Sony Reports 3.2 Billion in Losses

Earlier today, Sony reported $3.2 billion dollars in losses this year, with over 171 million attributed to the Playstation Network outage. A large portion of the loss was from a $4.4 billion dollar tax credit from last year. The company has also been struck, like many other Japanese companies, by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami earlier this year.

The 171 million dollars from the Playstation Network was a bit of a shock, but being out for nearly a month and the hits on sales and their stock prices definitely didn’t do the company any good.
