iVoler Dual-Port 36W Car Charger [QuickCharge & Adaptive Fast Charging]

A couple of months back, my primary job required me to drive fairly long distances, so I purchased a few items to make my life easier on the road. I picked up a two-port 36W USB car charger from iVoler that supports Samsung’s “Adaptive Fast Charging” as well as Qualcomm’s QuickCharge technology on both ports.

What this means is if you and one of your passengers have a newer Android smartphone or tablet, this device will charge both devices just like the home charger they came with. So as an example, my Note 4 would take several hours to charge on a standard car charger, but on my official Samsung charger, I can get a full charge in under an hour.

To find out if your phone is compatible, one way you can check is to look at the charger your smartphone originally came with. If you see 5 volts and right below that, 9 volts, or even 12 volts, then this is likely compatible with your phone. Alternatively, you can google the model of your phone followed by “quick charge” to see if your phone has this feature.

Qualcomm Quick Charge Compatible phones:
Samsung: Galaxy S6, S7, Note 4, Note 5, Note 7
HTC: One M8, One M9, One A9,
LG: G Flex 2, G4, V10
Motorola: Moto X, Moto X Pure, X Force, X Style, G Turbo,
Nexus: 5P, 6
Sharp Aquos: Pad, Zeta
Sony Xperia: X, Z2 Tablet, Z3, Z4, Z5
Xiaomi: Mi3, Mi4, Mi Note
ZTE: AXON Max, Pro, Z9

One thing I will note that this charger will charge basically any USB device. And at 36 watts of total output power, that is over 7 times the power output of a normal USB charger, so it will easily handle charging a pair of tablets.

Included with my charger was a micro USB cable, which was actually pretty solid quality for a non-braided cord. It’s 2 meters in length, which is just over 6 and a half feet long, so it’s handy to have in your car for passengers. Since there’s the extra port, you can charge two devices at once.

When you plug the charger in, a blue led indicator turns on to indicate it has power. I will commend them for the small touch of putting the LED behind opaque plastic so it isn’t so bright. I hate when companies put a single super bright LED on their product.

I wanted to put this particular charger to the test, so I hooked up my Note 4 using the included cable. On both ports, it shows “Fast charger connected”, which is what it shows me on my official Samsung charger at home.

I’ve had this in my car for 5 months so far and haven’t had any issues charging both of my phones at the same time. I would recommend picking one up if you have or plan to get a fast charging compatible device.
