Amazon Instant Video Goes 4K

Following in the footsteps of Netflix, Amazon’s Instant Video service will now deliver content in 4K resolution to compatible devices. The current title lineup includes a number of movies from Sony Pictures Entertainment, including Godzilla, Hancock, and both of the new Spiderman Movies. Amazon Prime members have instant access to a number of Amazon Original Series shows including the popular comedy, Alpha House, several musical performances, as well as a selection of Sony films.

In order to view the 4K content from Amazon, you’ll need a 4K TV with an Amazon Instant Video App or a 4K TV with a compatible streaming device. Amazon has a bunch of information available on compatible streaming devices, TVs, and what you need to stream 4K from their Instant Video service.

If you have a 4K TV and are interested in testing out Amazon’s Prime Instant Video service for free, Amazon is offering their Prime service free for 30 days. Available at no additional cost to their membership, Amazon Prime members can now binge watch Amazon Original Series including the sophomore season of fan-favorite Alpha House, the critically-acclaimed Writers Guild of America nominated series Transparent, and children’s series Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street in high-quality 4K picture resolution exclusively on Amazon Prime Instant Video. In addition, Prime Instant Video is the exclusive online-only subscription home for streaming the hit BBC AMERICA conspiracy thriller Orphan Black, which is now available in Ultra HD. The highly-anticipated upcoming new line-up from Amazon Studios including primetime series Mozart in the Jungle, Bosch , Hand of God, The After and Red Oakswill be available for streaming in Ultra HD on Prime Instant Video later this year and next year.
