EA Purchases Valve for 5 Billion, Merging Steam with Origin
If you thought the Facebook acquisition of the Oculus Rift brought on internet backlash, watch out. EA announced earlier this morning that they acquired Valve Corporation and will begin allowing Steam users to merge their accounts with a new or existing Origin account.
EA will acquire Valve Corporation for approximately $5 billion USD, including 1.5 billion in cash and over 3.5 billion in stock. The shareholder meeting below explains the details of the acquisition.
