LG to Debut 4K Short Throw Projector at CES 2018

LG announced the debut of a 4K UHD projector for CES 2018. Their new projector, model HU80KA, is supposed to create a 150-inch screen at 2500 lumens, which should be bright enough to be used in a dimly lit room. It has multiple ports including USB, Ethernet, and HDMI, but also has wireless support for external devices such as a keyboard and mouse. The projector supports HDR10, has two 7W speakers, and can output sound through optical, HDMI, or wirelessly through Bluetooth.

The LG projector also has a built-in webOS 3.5 smart TV interface, which will let you stream content from the usual services, such as Netflix, right out of the box. That’s a lot of stuff packed into the projector, so I’m curious to see what the price will end up being. What are your thoughts on this? I’m hoping 4K projectors still offer 3D, though. They can do passive glasses at 1080p with that resolution.
