Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 Expected to Release in 2013

In Activision’s most recent earnings call quoted by Dennis Durkin, Activision’s current CFO, it was revealed that a new Call of Duty game to add to the franchise is expected to be released later this year.

Following the pattern of Activision’s recent Call of Duty titles, the next title is expected to be continuing the Modern Warfare series. Another possibility is also to introduce a new series that is independent from the Modern Warfare and Black Ops series, which I believe is more likely the outcome since the Modern Warfare series could be no more than trilogy.

Another note is the release date may be close to the next generation console’s release dates. We expect the next consoles to be released near Thanksgiving or Christmas time this year, which if true, can be enough to conclude that this Call of Duty game will be one of the first games to be released for the next generation consoles.
