Oculus Mobile SDK Now Available for the Samsung Gear VR (Note 4)

Oculus just released their Mobile SDK for Samsung’s upcoming Gear VR headset, which uses the Galaxy Note 4 for an immersive virtual reality experience. The SDK is available for download right now on their website and has a number of features optimized to the Note 4 hardware, as well as the source code for Oculus Cinema, 360 Photos, and 360 Videos.

Oculus and Samsung have partnered together on VR, sharing hardware and software development, so hopefully putting this into developer’s hands will yield some cool applications.I’m personally looking forward to someone getting Plex to work in a Cinema program and getting nVidia 3D streaming to work with the Gear. If the latency is low enough over wifi, that would be amazing.
