Google Chromebooks Available for Pre-order

Google has been developing an open-source Linux based operating system which is now available for preorder on Chromebook laptops.  These laptops are going to be manufactured by Samsung and Acer, starting at $379.99 for a Wi-Fi only model and the most expensive model running at $499.99. These devices will be shipped on June 15 for people who pre-ordered them.

The Chromebook has some very promising features, such as an 8 second boot time. The operating system it runs on was developed from the ground up to prevent malware and viruses form damaging it.
