iFixIt Tears Down the iPhone 5

Didn’t take them long, but iFixIt has already dug into the iPhone 5 and has a breakdown of the components.

Some notable features / changes:

  • Stronger home button for prolonged button mashing
  • New 19-pin “Lightning” dock connector
    • No room for the 30-pin connector
  • Qualcomm MDM9615M 4G LTE processor
  • Custom Apple A6 Processor
    • Custom Dual-core 1Ghz ARMv7
    • 32nm manufacturing size
    • 22 percent smaller than the A5, less power consumption
  • 1GB RAM
