iPhone 5 Live Coverage

Today we’ll be bringing you live coverage at Apple’s “Let’s Talk iPhone” event. We don’t have a fancy Ajax coded update system yet, so you’ll have to F5 and Ctrl + R your way through.

I’ll be summarizing below here as the news comes in. Watching a broadcast from GDGT which is coming in with slides and text since Apple won’t allow any live broadcasting of the event.

Update: Nothing on the iPhone or anything important. Just fluffing the growth of Apple over the past decade.

Update: Finally some iOS 5 information!

These are the devices that will have the iOS 5 Update available October 12th

iOS 5 Update

Update: iTunes is ready to work with the iCloud – access your music and photos anywhere without having to plug in your iOS device. Automatically synchronizes your device daily.

Update: New app “Family and Friends” lets you keep track of your family and friends

Update: Finally some video!

iMessage and Game Center updates for the iPod Touch.

Finally iPhone 5 Update!

“People have been wondering, how do you follow up a hit product like the iPhone 4?”

“Dual-core CPU, 2x as fast at CPU tasks. Also dual-core graphics. Up to 7x faster in the previous iPhone. One area you really see it scream is in games.”

Next Generation iPhone to feature a dual-core A5 chipset and dual-core graphics, as well as an  HSPA+ modem so it can handle up to 14.4 Mbps down.

Battery life increases on the next iPhone

New maximum network speeds

Next iPhone to feature 8MP CMOS camera sensor (3264 x 2448), have a f2.4 focus point for wide photos, and capture 1080P video. The camera should be equivalent to a digital camera from 2 years ago and a blog-style video camera. Nice!

We’ll bring some sample photos when they come out. From the leaked ones 2 weeks ago, they looked really nice.

iOS 5 to feature a microphone icon next to the keyboard for dictating content. Kind of like what Android did 2 years ago.

iPhone 4S Launch Prices & Info

The iPhone 4S will launch with AT&T, Verizon, & Sprint. No T-mobile launch with the 4S as of right now. The iPhone 4S to launch in black & white, 16GB & 32GB. Price $199 & $299. iPhone 4 drops to $99, iPhone 3GS drops to Free with 2 year contract.

iPhone Coverage Summary:

NO iPhone 5. However, almost and iPhone 5, since it does update the current one with most of the things we were expecting. Dual Core CPU & GPU, World-phone Qualcomm chipset, and an 8MP Camera with 1080P video capture. The new iCloud will be adding iTunes synchronization, which will allow users to synchronize both music and photos to their iOS devices. This feature will be apart of iOS5 which will be released October 14th. iOS will be available for the iPhone 3GS, 4, and will launch with the iPhone 4S. The iPod Touch 3rd Gen & 4th Gen will also get the iOS5 update.

Very uninformative, Apple…. but then at least they confirmed half of the rumors.
