Droid-X Gets Android 2.3 Update

It looks like Verizon’s Droid-X will get an official update to 2.3 (Gingerbread v4.5.596). Users will be able to get this update via Verizon’s OTA (Over the Air) update service this week. Rooted users had this update available a few weeks ago – with several install guides out. If you are looking to update it legitimately, but want to root the phone, Droid Life recommends waiting to update the phone until a new root tutorial is put out.
