Amazon Instant Video App Now Available for the Xbox 360

Just yesterday, Amazon joined the competition of streaming videos to the Xbox 360 console. Along with Xfinity TV, Netflix, and other Xbox 360 apps, you can now stream Amazon videos onto your Xbox 360 console. User are able to rent and purchase video streaming content, as well as add them to their ‘watchlist’, which is very similar to the ‘instant queue’ on Netflix.

The Amazon Instant Video Streaming App was already released on the PS3 back in April. It allows watching of 17,000 total videos, and is completely compatible with kinect. Purchasing content must be made outside the app itself. However, once content is purchased / rented, it will appear directly on the ‘video library’ equipped with the app.

For Amazon Prime members who pay $79.99 / year ($39.99 / year for students with valid .edu email addresses), streaming content is already included in their purchase and all content can be instantly streamed at no additional cost.
